Privacy Policy
ConnectED is a school portal for elementary teachers, parents, and administrators. This policy describes personal data the system stores and how it is used. It is information about the product, not legal advice. A school that deploys ConnectED for live records should review this text with its Data Protection Officer under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
Who this covers
Admin, teacher, and parent accounts. Learners in Grades 1–6 do not log in, but the school stores their academic records in ConnectED.
Data we process
Accounts: name, school email, hashed password, role, status, optional avatar, parent mobile number.
Students: name, LRN, grade, section, date of birth, gender, enrollment status, linked parent.
Learning records: attendance (including AM/PM sessions), scores and rubric category points, lesson files, classwork, quizzes, and AI drafts.
Messages: parent–teacher concerns stay between those two accounts. Admins send school announcements, not private threads.
SMS queue: parent phone, message text, send status (when SMS is configured).
To run classes, show a parent their own child’s progress, send notices and optional SMS alerts, and support school administration. ConnectED does not sell personal data.
Who can see what
Admin: school users, students, subjects, and school announcements. Parent–teacher concerns stay private.
Teacher: assigned classes, records they encode, materials, and notices they send.
Parent: only children linked to their account (overview, progress, attendance, inbox for the selected child).
SMS
If the school enables SMS, a parent’s Philippine mobile number and the alert text are sent through the configured provider (for example Semaphore). Delivery depends on that provider and a valid 09XXXXXXXXX number.
AI drafts
Generate AI Draft sends lesson title, objectives, and an excerpt of the lesson file to the school’s configured model (local Ollama or a cloud API). Student names and LRNs are not included in that prompt. Drafts stay in the teacher account until reviewed and saved to Classwork. Teachers must check AI output before learners use it. Quiz and activity Records are created from Classwork, not from the draft itself.
Shared quiz links
A classwork share link can be opened without a ConnectED login. Anyone who has the link can open that quiz. Treat the URL like a password.
Browser storage
ConnectED stores a sign-in token and related preferences in the browser so you stay logged in. It does not use advertising trackers.
Retention, access, and security
Records are kept while the school uses ConnectED (typically the school year and any period the school requires). Ask an administrator to correct account or student details. Passwords are stored hashed. Access is limited by role. No system is perfectly secure; the school is responsible for backups and who is given an account.

Terms of Use
By using a ConnectED account you agree to these terms. The school that operates this portal remains responsible for official grades, enrollment, and school policies.
The service
ConnectED is an information system for teachers, parents, and admins. It is not a public social network. Progress Summary is generated from stored scores and attendance (template wording), not a counseling or psychological assessment. If a screen conflicts with official school records, the school’s official record prevails.
Accounts
Accounts are issued by an administrator. Keep your password private. Do not share a login. You may be required to change a temporary password on first sign-in. The school may disable an account if it is misused.
Acceptable use
Teachers encode attendance and scores in good faith, review AI drafts before Classwork or Records, and send notices only to appropriate classes.
Parents use the portal only for children linked to them and must not copy or publish other pupils’ data.
Admins manage users, enrollment, and subjects for school operations.
Do not put extra sensitive personal data in notices or AI prompts beyond what teaching requires.
AI, SMS, and quiz links
AI output can be wrong. The teacher is responsible for what is saved and given to learners. SMS alerts are best-effort and are not a substitute for the portal. Shared quiz URLs must not be posted publicly if the assessment should stay in class.
Uploads and availability
Lesson files must be school-appropriate and must not infringe copyright. The portal may be unavailable during maintenance, local server issues, or a slow AI model. There is no guaranteed uptime unless the school states otherwise.
Governing note
These terms are intended for use in the Philippines. For a live school deployment, the school may attach additional policies. This text is not a substitute for legal counsel.
Help
Short guides for this portal. For account problems, ask your school administrator—there is no self-serve password reset by email.
All users
Sign in with your school email and password. Use Change Password in the profile menu after you log in.
After a system update, refresh the page (Ctrl+F5) if buttons look old.
On a phone, use the menu button (☰) to open Dashboard, Inbox, and the rest of the sidebar.
Admin
Create teacher and parent accounts. Parents need a valid mobile number if the school sends SMS.
Enroll students (LRN, grade, section) and link them to a parent.
Manage subjects and who teaches which class. Send school announcements from Announcements.
Teacher
Pick a class under My Classes, then use Attendance Sheet, Records, Materials, and Classwork.
Materials → Generate AI Draft. Keep the tab open until Generating AI Draft finishes (first run can take a few minutes). Review, then Save to Classwork. In Classwork, create a Quiz or Activity to add it to Records and enable a student link.
Class notices go to parents of that class. Inbox is for concerns and replies.
A shared quiz link works without login. Copy it only to the intended group.
Parent
If you have more than one child, switch child in the sidebar first. Dashboard, Progress, Attendance, and Inbox follow the selected child.
Progress Summary lists subject notes from recent scores and attendance. It is not an AI chat.
SMS may repeat an important notice; the portal has the full message.
Common questions
Inbox shows another child. Select the correct child, then open Inbox again.
Generate showed an error but a draft appeared. Refresh Materials. Wait for one job to finish before clicking Generate again.
Enroll has no sections. Choose the grade first. Sections come from assigned classes and enrolled students.
SMS did not arrive. Check the parent number is 09XXXXXXXXX and that the school’s SMS service is on.
